LightMan Writer is a very practical and solid CD & DVD burning application.

In a market already filled with excellent burners, Lightman Writer appears as a free solution, which, in general terms, includes most of the options that are present in other similar software, such as creating data discs, audio discs, video discs and disc images. It can also make disc copies and read discs. In this respect, one of its advantages is that it allows to create discs in mixed mode.
Although I would say that the interface needs further design work, it looks fine in general. To make things easier for you, there is a welcome screen in which you can select what you need to do. You can then create project files, which can also be saved and opened from your disk. Perhaps the most common type of task is creating data discs. In this respect, the program supports either DVD or CD discs, and it also allows creating multi-session discs. In addition, you can also create different types of media discs, like audio CDs and video DVDs. The procedure is basically the same for all types of discs, as there will be a browser panel from which you can add files to your project. In this regard, it is not very different from well-known burners like Nero Burning ROM.
Unfortunately, Lightman Writer does not offer some of the features present in other similar applications. For instance, it does not include any tool to create DVD menus or to create CD covers.
